Walsh and Crosby Mark Kent State Anniversary With A Concert

David Crosby and Joe Walsh announced that they were taking part in a concert to mark the 50th anniversary of the Kent State shootings on May second at the university’s Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center. The concert is set two days prior to the actual May 4th anniversary of the Ohio National Guard opening fire on anti war protesters killing 4 students and wounding 9. Joe Walsh was a Kent State Student at the time. His ‘70s band Barnstorm will join him for the performance. Proceeds from the show will go toward the upkeep of four new May 4 Legacy Scholarships for Kent State’s Peace and Conflict Studies course. Each scholarship is named after one of the students killed. Tickets go on sale at 10AM on March 6 at the Kent State website.
